A group of Good Samaritans helped apprehend a man suspected of robbing a woman and tying her up in her apartment in the Bronxyesterday evening.

Cops say that Bruce Lee, 29, followed the unidentified 23-year-old victim into her apartment in the Fordham section of The Bronx at around 6:20 p.m. last night. Then, according to authorities, he forced his way into her apartment, threatened her with a gun (one later proven to be fake) and tied up her hands and feet using duct tape. He then allegedly stole cash, jewelry and a cell phone from her apartment. "He just pushed her inside, threw her on her bed, tied her arms, her legs," Katheria Gines, the building's superintendent, told NBC News. "Took her belongings, put a fake gun to her head, said he was going to kill her."

But he didn't get far—after he fled, the victim started screaming for help outside her window, and bystanders and building tenants jumped to attention. As Lee left the building, cops say a number of people grabbed him and held him until police arrived. "I was in my dining room and heard someone screaming,” a neighbor told CBS 2. “Two guys, they hold him down until the cops could come.”

Lee, who has a number of prior arrests, has been charged with robbery, grand larceny, menacing and weapons charge, among others.
