Billionaire casino magnate and Newt Gingrich's human life preserver Sheldon Adelson wants to build casinos in New York should he ever get the chance. “Our integrated resort properties have produced tremendous overall tourism and economic benefit in every location in which we operate, and under the right circumstances, we would be honored to bring our industry-leading, convention-based business model to New York,” a Sands rep tells the Post. Well, it appears the Venetian has bedbugs so Adelson's monstrosities will fit right in.
Despite Governor Cuomo's proposal to give the proposed Aqueduct convention center and casino to the firm Genting, the gambling jackals have already begun circling the Empire State, smelling the potential for more cheap slots and easy
misery money. Adelson and his wife have donated at least $10 million to the Gingrich-friendly super PAC to keep his campaign alive, which only represents around 0.46% of his $21.5 billion.
There are now reports that Adelson donated another $10 million (the actual amount is unknown, but "sizable") because if there's one trick to gambling it's that if you keep doing it eventually you'll win your money back.
