The baseball season kicks off Thursday and what better way to celebrate than a free boat ride? Delta Airlines and the New York Water Taxi company, which recently lost out on a bid to run an expanded ferry service on the East River, have teamed up to once again provide free boat service to all of the Yankees and Mets home games—just don't expect a ride back.

Every game day a specially decked-out water taxi will be making stops at Pier 11 downtown and at East 35th Street to pick up a maximum of 147 passengers for the gratis ride. From East 35th Street the trip will be just over an hour to the stadiums, you can check out the full schedule here.

But there are a few catches! Unless you want to pay the $1 reservation fee (which is only available for a limited number of seats with a limit of four reservations per person) the seats are first-come, first-serve. And though the boat will be serving "the Delta signature 'Fly Ball' cocktail, cold beer, soft drinks and snacks" you are not allowed to bring your own food or drink on the boat. And, as we mentioned, even if you boat to the game you'll still have to take public transportation home since there is no return service.
