Did you enjoy the cold weather yesterday? The temperature fell below normal on Tuesday for the first time in more than two weeks, and for only the fourth time in the last 35 days. So far October is running 7.2 degrees above the long-term average. If that pace continues this will easily become the warmest October on record.
And continue it will for at least the next several days! The high pressure system that brought the chill air is sliding off to the southeast of the city today, so we'll be on the warm side of the air mass through the weekend. Look for a high of 70 degrees this afternoon under sunny skies. Highs in the low to mid 70s, lows in the mid 50s, and plenty of clear skies are expected from tomorrow through Monday.
The humidity will start to increase on Sunday as a southwesterly wind starts dragging humid air up from the Gulf of Mexico. That could possibly maybe lead to heavy rain when a cold front arrives either late Monday or sometime next Tuesday, and will almost certainly lead into cooler weather by the middle of next week.
