No news is good news, right? With this weather forecast the 'no news' is a surface high pressure system sitting north of Lake Ontario. That high is acting like a shield, keeping a storm that is moving up the coast just far enough away that we will have mostly sunny skies and a near-normal high of 84 degrees this afternoon.
The influence of the high pressure system continues through the weekend. We can expect mostly sunny skies, low humidity, and a high in the mid 80s both Saturday and Sunday.
Utopian weather never lasts long here in New York. Look for the humidity to return on Monday with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a warm front lifts north through the region. There is a better chance of stormy weather on Tuesday as a much thicker layer of humid air arrives and a cold front approaches. Neither Monday or Tuesday look particularly warm, with highs both days only in the lower 80s.
