Police are searching for five muggers who stabbed and beat a man in broad daylight in the Bronx earlier this month.

At 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday May 5th, five unidentified men equipped with a baseball bat and "sharp instrument" attacked a 25-year-old man outside of 674 Allerton Avenue in the Bronx, a few blocks east of the New York Botanical Garden.

The men beat the victim repeatedly with the baseball bat, and stabbed him several times. One of the muggers ripped a chain off of the victim's neck before the group fled the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition; the entire incident was captured on surveillance camera.

The NYPD describes the suspects as Hispanic males, and investigators say the suspect who wielded the "sharp instrument," presumably a knife, was last seen wearing a black tank top and black shorts.
