Are you ready for summer? The last five days have averaged eight degrees cooler than normal, but much warmer weather is imminent as a warm front pushes through the city today. The sky is beginning to clear after the heavy morning fog, so the temperature should jump into the mid 80s this afternoon. There's a slight chance Manhattanhenge will be visible this evening but it will have to compete with scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Hot, sticky, weather is on tap for the next few days as our summer friend, the Bermuda High, settles in over the East Coast. High temperatures on Thursday and Friday will be right around 90 degrees. Saturday might not be quite that warm. Morning lows will dip to near 70, making for a few muggy nights.
The warm air mass looks like it will be countered a bit by clouds on Sunday. Some of those clouds might be ambitious enough to produce showers or scattered thunderstorms. As of now it looks like a cold front passage on Sunday night will bring more seasonable temperatures on Monday.
