If you were casting a Hollywood about a Bernard Madoff-type Ponzi schemer under house arrest in his Manhattan penthouse, would you immediately think Alan Alda? Or would you think to cast Ben Stiller as the manager of the apartment building who rallies his employees to try to get their money from Alda's character? Well, the movie, Tower Heist, directed by Rush Hour auteur Brett Ratner, is in pre-production will be filming in New York.

The movie will also feature Precious star Gabourey Sidibe, Casey Affleck, Eddie Murphy, Matthew Broderick (as "Chase Fitzhugh, a Wall Street guy who, like the building staff, had his finances cleaned out" by Alda's character) and Tea Leoni, who plays an FBI agent who falls for Stiller's character. Slashfilm says "that when Ted Griffin‘s original Tower Heist script was going around it was often called a ‘black Ocean’s Eleven.’"
