One person is dead after multiples motorists crashed on the Brooklyn Bridge this morning. Three of the cars caught fire, according to the FDNY.

Authorities were alerted to the crash, which occurred on the eastbound lanes on the Brooklyn side, at 7:14 a.m. An FDNY spokesperson said that in addition to the fatality, five people sustained minor injuries and that firefighters are still searching cars.

UPDATE 8:52 a.m.:
Manhattan-bound lanes have been reopened to traffic.

All lanes of the Brooklyn Bridge are currently closed.
