A 28-year-old woman was killed after the car she was in hit a pole in East Williamsburg early this morning. According to police, the incident happened around 3:10 a.m. on Johnson Avenue near Varick Avenue. The victim was a passenger in a black 2009 Mazda being driven by a 19-year-old headed eastbound on Johnson. “I heard a loud crash. I saw a bunch of people crowded around,” 20-year-old witness Dylan Eitharong told the Post.

“I heard the guy screaming, 'Oh s---, oh f---, what did I do?' He was running back and forth until the cops came and took him,” Eitharong, who had just gotten off the L train Morgan Avenue station when he came across the accident, added. Police say Johnson lost control of the car, and struck a wooden telephone pole. The woman, who was the front seat passenger, was declared dead at the scene. The driver was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. Police are still investigating; witnesses at the scene told the Post that the driver appeared to be intoxicated.
