A New York City firefighter was killed while riding his motorcycle in New Jersey this morning, and officials believe he may have been struck by a drunk driver.
The yet-to-be-identified firefighter was reportedly in uniform while riding his motorcycle at 5 a.m. this morning; he was struck by a motorist near North Avenue and Vivian Terrace in Union Township. An FDNY spokesperson could not confirm his name nor his age, but ABC News reports he was 57 years old, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car was reportedly arrested on suspicion of DWI; we will update when more information becomes available.
