The MTA announced that the FASTRACK maintenance and cleaning program is coming to a big chunk of the A, B, C and D trains next week starting on Monday. From July 10th to the 14th, and then again from July 17th to the 21st, there'll be no A train between 59th Street and Inwood-207 Street, no D train between 59th Street and 161st Street-Yankee Stadium, and B and C service will end early each night.

The A will run normally between 59th Street and Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard/Far Rockaway each night; while the D will run in two sections, between 59th Street and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and from Yankee Stadium-161st Street to Norwood Avenue-205th Street. The MTA recommends taking the 1, 2 or 4 trains for any riders who need to get from Midtown to Washington Heights or the Bronx.

The agency will also be running three free shuttle buses. One will run between the Dyckman Street A and 1 stops, one will run along the M4 route to take care of people who need to get to the 168th, 175th, 181st and 190th Street A stops and the third bus will run between the 110th Street 1 Station and 155th Street A and D stops, stopping at the 110th, 116th, 125th and 135th Street A stations, and the 135th Street 2/3 station.

During the maintenance work, the MTA says that "an army" of workers will repair and replace track, third rail and signal components, clear up garbage on the tracks and near the third rail and also beautify the stations themselves by painting them and fixing up signs and lighting.

And for anyone who rides the Q, take note: the next FASTRACK repairs will be on the Q from September 11th to the 15th and the 18th to the 22nd.
