Far Right 'Journalist' Banned From Uber & Lyft After Making Racist Tweets About Muslims

In the aftermath of Tuesday's terror attack on the Hudson River Greenway bike path, city officials preached tolerance and unity. But, of course, white supremacist trolls gonna troll, and one far-right activist trolled so hard she got herself kicked off Uber and Lyft for targeting Muslim drivers in her tweets. Sad!

Laura Loomer, a self-proclaimed former "investigative journalist" with James O'Keefe's right-wing sting operation Project Veritas who infamously jumped onstage during a performance of this summer's Shakespeare in the Park production of Julius Caesar, ran around New York on Wednesday tweeting about how she "couldn't find a non Muslim cab or @Uber @lyft driver." Behold:

She also appeared to take issue with Muslim women in head scarves "rubbing it in everyone's face":

Indeed, as unfathomable as it may be that women feel free to express their religion in public in the United States of America, Uber and Lyft were displeased with Loomer's pointed racism against their drivers, and both companies banned her from their platforms. Loomer then spent quite a bit of time tweeting about how she was going to sue Uber and Lyft, interspersed with some insinuation that Hillary Clinton is somehow responsible for the Las Vegas shooting, I think? Honestly, who cares.

While it is true that terror suspect Sayfullo Saipov was an Uber driver—and passed the company's criminal background check—it's about as likely that an Uber driver will carry out a terrorist attack as a real estate investor would carry out a mass shooting, so.

Loomer did not respond to our request for comment but we'll update if she does.
