Uh, remind us never to get into a fight with Drena De Niro? The 42-year-old's ex-boyfriend, construction worker Austin Young, tells the Post today that the trained Thai boxer gave him something of a beatdown last night, one that included her ripping up a potted palm tree and smashing it into the sidewalk. “For 15 minutes she whaled [sic] on me and yelled at me,” Young told the tabloid. “I can take a punch, but she whaled [sic] on me, like, 10 times. She’s a Thai boxer, and a very good one.

The attack, for which Young filed a domestic-incident report with the police, allegedly occurred on Downing Street at about 8 p.m. when De Niro's adopted daughter "stormed over and slugged [Young] in the face" while he was walking his dog and talking with a neighbor. “I think she heard about my new girlfriend moving into my apartment,” he said. “She’s very bitter with the way our relationship ended.”

According to one witness things got downright comical when Young's dog got loose: “He chased the dog, and Drena chased [Young] down the street, punching him and ripping at his shirt,” a witness recounted. According to Young while this was going on she yelled, “I want my sweater back, I want my engagement ring back! I want to be compensated because you never loved me.

Police confirm the incident took place but made no arrests because there were no injuries. And Young, who blames Robert De Niro's disapproval on their relationship falling apart, thinks that is just not fair: “If the roles had been reversed, I would have been arrested," he said. "I feel like I was bullied by celebrity power.”
