Hudson Yards has lured a big new tenant: Facebook is leasing over 1.5 million square feet of office space across three buildings at the multi-billion dollar complex.

The social media Goliath and popular platform for political disinformation will be renting a total of 30 floors spread throughout three buildings: 1,200,000 square feet in 50 Hudson Yards, about 265,000 square feet in 30 Hudson Yards and roughly 57,000 square feet in 55 Hudson Yards, according to Hudson Yards' announcement.

Facebook currently has 758,000 square feet at 770 Broadway—a.k.a. the building where the Astor Place Kmart is—and 266,000 square feet at 225 Park Avenue South. According to CNBC, "A Facebook spokesperson said the company has yet to determine how many employees and which teams will work out of the Hudson Yards office."

There had been some chatter—possibly from brokers trying to drum up interest in their properties—that Facebook had been looking for space in the old Farley post office building across from Penn Station. Fun fact: Amazon was rumored to have been looking at the Farley building, as well as at Manhattan West.

“When considering the next phase of our growth in the city, it was important that our newest office space was situated in the heart of a vibrant community that offered access to arts, culture, media and commerce,” John Tenanes, Facebook’s vice president of global facilities and real state, told CNBC. "Hudson Yards offered this and more, and we’re excited to expand our offices there starting in 2020."

50 Hudson Yards is scheduled to be completed in 2022; 30 and 55 Hudson Yards are complete, though some floors and features—like the edge observation deck at 30 Hudson Yards, set to open in 2020—are not finished.
