2007_09_ftrain.jpgSubway service on the F train line has been temporarily suspended in Brooklyn, due to what readers are letting us know is a possible bomb threat. Reader Marc Zeltzer tells us that the streets from 6th to 8th Aves. and 8th to 10th Sts. in Park Slope have been closed by police.

Subway trains are running through the 7th Ave. station without stopping and two "NYPD special emergency trucks" are on site. Marc also sent a picture of the intersection at 7th Ave. and 9th Street. It's still early, so we're hopeful that this won't be too disruptive to anyone's end-of-week commute.

The F-line disruption occurs just hours after service on the 4,5,6 lines was delayed due to a suspicious green liquid observed on the northbound tracks of the 6 line at 14th St. in Manhattan. Newsday reports that investigators said it was just a discarded cigar box, which seems like a non sequitur to us, but there was apparently no danger.
