    • Alexei Navalny, a high-profile, outspoken opponent of Russian autocrat Vladimir Putin, was arrested upon his return to Russia today after recovering from an assassination attempt allegedly orchestrated by Putin. "I know that I'm right. I fear nothing," Navalny told supporters moments before he was taken into custody.
    • ProPublica has amassed an impressive, interactive collection of videos of the attack on the Capitol culled from Parler and arranged in chronological order from multiple locations.
    • And New Yorker reporter Luke Mogelson has shared his disturbing footage from inside the Capitol during the insurrection.
    • The brave good Samaritan who jumped onto the subway tracks to save a man who had been shoved there by a naked assailant told the NY Post all about it.
    • Starbucks shut some of its Manhattan locations today in vague anticipation of protests expected today. Or maybe this is just the start of Starbucks "Phase Two."
    • Phil Spector, the murderer and influential rock music producer, died of COVID-19 at age 81 on Saturday.
    • Willie Nelson and Steve Martin got the COVID vaccine.
    • Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Nick Ut, famous for his photo of an injured Vietnamese girl running from an American napalm attack in 1972, was injured in an unprovoked assault in Washington, D.C. on Thursday.
