Bill Cowher, the Super Bowl-winning former coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, was involved in a car accident yesterday on the Upper East Side that involved some pesky Park Avenue scaffolding. Luckily, no one was hurt.

According to the Daily News, "Cowher, 56, was heading north [on Park] in a black Mercedes-Benz when a woman driving a Ford Fusion going in the same direction cut him off attempting to turn onto E. 92nd St. about 1:10 p.m., according to police and witnesses." When his Benz hit the Fusion, the Fusion went into building scaffolding on the corner. The FDNY had to shore up the scaffolding.

An EMT told the Post, "With how banged up that car is, it’s amazing no one was really hurt." The Post's sources add that no one was arrested or issued summonses, because bad drivers can get away with anything.
