A retired NYPD cop, firefighter and Navy veteran was arrested for allegedly making threats against the President. Michael Stephen Bowden, 78, told a Veterans Affairs clinic nurse in Spartanburg, SC that he "would like to shoot the president," because Obama was "not doing enough to help African-Americans."

Bowden also told the nurse he wanted to kill himself. While this seems like a sad, crazy old man just talking, the Secret Service followed up with a visit to Bowden's home, and he didn't deny the statements, and instead clarified for them on the record, "If I had the opportunity to put Obama against the wall and shoot him, I would." Agents found a small cache of guns in his home, including three semiautomatic handguns and a semiautomatic rifle under his bed and 13 other guns elsewhere. Bowden's son, Kerry, said the statements were a cry for help: "Let's face it -- he's a 78-year-old man that's gone through two bypass surgeries. He has seven stints. If he lifts anything over 20 pounds, he has to pop a nitro because of his chest pain. Is this man really a threat?" First President Bush didn't care about black people, and now Obama doesn't?
