Fulfilling what must have been a life-long dream, a federal judge quoted from Caddyshack in dismissing Andrew Giuliani's golf lawsuit against Duke University. All together now: So he's got that going for him. You may recall that Andrew, son of Rudolph the Red Faced Mayor, is suing the school for kicking him off the varsity golf team. He says he was promised "lifetime access" to Duke's golf facilities by ex-coach Rod Myers, but then a new coach tossed him into the rough.

Duke's lawyers insisted that Giuliani was cut for obnoxious behavior, like breaking a club and throwing an apple at a teammate. So that's frowned upon on the links these days? Well, in judge Wallace Dixon's courtroom it is! And he's recommending that U.S. District Court in North Carolina dismiss the lawsuit, ruling that Giuliani's argument "brings to mind Carl Spackler's analysis" from Caddyshack: "He's on his final hole. He's about 455 yards away, he's gonna hit about a 2 iron, I think." Ha, quoting Caddyshack never gets old.

The entire decision, posted on Smoking Gun, is riddled with golf allusions, and dads across America are currently dropping everything to email it to their kids. So fair warning. But if Dixon really wants to amuse as he rules, let's see some Better Off Dead quotes in his next decision.
