We have now entered the commuting season in which subway platforms are transformed into steam baths and subway cars are refrigerators that turn the ensuing body sweat into a sheet of ice. And that all gets paired with the usual slew of subway changes that turn every ride into a slow crawl through a tunnel of despair. Summer is great! Here's what's on tap this weekend:

1 trains will not run in either direction between 96th Street and Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street, starting at 11:30 p.m. on Friday and lasting until 5 a.m. on Monday. South Ferry-bound 1 trains will make express stops between 14th Street and Chambers Street during that period.

Wakefield-241st Street bound 2 trains will make express stops from Franklin Avenue to Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center from 11:45 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday. From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, and again from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. on Monday, 2 trains will make express stops between 14th Street and Chambers Street on the Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College bound track.

Harlem-148th Street bound 3 trains will make express stops from Frankly Avenue to Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center, starting at 6:30 a.m. and ending at midnight on Saturday and Sunday.

4 trains will make express stops between Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and 14th Street on the Woodlawn-bound track, with that change in effect from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and again from 11:45 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. on Monday. During that same period, Woodlawn-bound 4 trains will also make express stops between Franklin Avenue and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center.

All 5 trains will run every 20 minutes, from 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Pelham Bay Park-bound 6 trains will make express stops from Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall to 14th Street-Union Square, starting at 11:45 p.m. on Friday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday. Brooklyn Bridge-bound 6 trains will make express stops from Pelham Bay Park to Parkchester from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. on Monday.

A trains will not run between Ozone-Park Lefferts Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard in either direction, starting at 11:45 p.m. on Friday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday. Brooklyn-bound A trains will skip Rockaway Boulevard and 88th Street during this time. From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, Brooklyn-bound A trains will run express from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to Canal Street.

Brooklyn-bound C trains will run express between 59th Street-Columbus Circle and Canal Street, starting at 6:30 a.m. and ending at 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

D trains will reroute along the N line on the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound track, from 36th Street to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue. That change is in effect from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday.

E trains will not run in either direction between West 4th Street-Washington Square and World Trade Center from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. E trains will also reroute along the F line from West 4th Street-Washington Square to 2nd Avenue during this time. Jamaica Center-bound E trains will make express stops between Queens Plaza and Roosevelt Avenue from 12:15 a.m. to 6;30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and from 12:15 a.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday. From 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, WTC-bound E trains run local between Forest Hills-71st Avenue and Queens Plaza, while Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer bound trains will run local between Roosevelt Avenue and Forest Hills-71st Avenue.

Jamaica-179th Street bound F trains will reroute along the M line from 47-50th Streets to Roosevelt Avenue from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday. On the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue bound track, trains will make local stops between Forest Hills-71st Avenue and 21st Street-Queensbridge from 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

J trains will not run in either direction between Hewes and Essex Streets, with that change in effect from 5:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday. M trains will not run between Myrtle Avenue and Essex Street during that period.

Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard bound N trains will run along the D line between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and 36th Street, starting at 11:45 p.m. on Friday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday. Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound N trains will reroute along the R line between Canal Street at Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Q trains will make express stops between Prospect Park and Kings Highway on the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue bound track, starting at 11:15 p.m. Friday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday. On that same track, trains will reroute via the R line from Canal Street to Dekalb Avenue; that change is in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

R trains will make express stops between Queens Plaza and Roosevelt Avenue in both directions, starting at 6:30 a.m. and ending at midnight on Saturday and Sunday.
