After an incredibly embarrassing loss on Sunday to the Philadelphia Eagles, Eli Manning asked Giants coach Tom Coughlin if he could hold a "players only" meeting to cheer everyone up. Manning told ESPN, "Now is the time when we got to be excited and look at the bright side of things and be optimistic and say we got a great opportunity to make the playoffs. We're the one who is going to decide whether we make the playoffs and what happens. It is only us." After the pep talk, they presumably braided each others' hair and made prank calls to Michael Vick.

Manning's teammates said the soft-spoken quarterback has never addressed the team alone before, but Justin Tuck said he "got some cheers and hand claps because it was so out of character for him." Though the Giants are now in second place in the NFC East, they can get wild-card berth in the playoffs if they beat the Packers on Sunday. And Antrel Rolle guaranteed that would happen: "I don't think. I know it. I know it's going to happen this weekend. I have no doubt. If I said it's going to happen, it's going to happen."
