An 86-year-old man was thrown to the ground and robbed outside Central Park early Friday morning after not giving someone a dollar, police say.

A police spokesman said that at about 12:35 a.m. today, the man was walking near the park with his wife, when they crossed paths with a group of four men near the park entrance on East 76th Street. One of the people in the group asked the man for a dollar, and when he refused, someone threw him down and stole his wallet which contained $20 and credit cards.

No arrests have been made and no suspects have been named, according to police.
