An elderly man was fatally struck by two cars while crossing the street in Manhattan last night. According to police, 76-year-old Antonio Escanio was crossing the street at Amsterdam Avenue and West 155th Street in Harlem just before 6:00 p.m. on Friday when he was struck by a Toyota SUV and a Chevy Malibu.

Escanio was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital with head trauma, where he was pronounced dead. Both drivers remained at the scene. It wasn't clear if Escanio was crossing with or against the light. Police add that no criminality is suspected, but the investigation is ongoing.
