Defense lawyers for a "group of accused drug-running gangbangers" in the Bronx are unhappy with their clients. And, no, it's not because of their clients' alleged crimes—it's because their clients love talking about their sex lives in explicit detail.
According to the Post, lawyers "are complaining about having to sift through hundreds of hours of recorded jail conversations in which their clients brag about their sex lives.
One defense attorney was so sick of the blue banter that he actually asked out of the case, saying he planned to retire soon and could not get through all the material. A judge rejected the request."
Another lawyer pointed out to the judge, "It’s not practical to have us sit and listen to 5,575 phone calls that are not relevant and sometimes include pornographic conversations," and an unnamed lawyer told the Post, "I’ve listened to about 150 hours of it, and I’d say 130 was sex talk and family fights. Some of the guys are really explicit about who’s screwing who and what they’re doing with each other. It gets to the point where you don’t want to hear it. It’s not the way I would be talking."
