Early yesterday morning, a 22-year-old driver barreled into a Staten Island home, injuring a 40-year-old woman and her 5-year-old daughter who were trapped under the car. Now the driver, Charles Trainor, has been charged with vehicular assault, driving while intoxicated and driving while impaired by drugs.
According to the Staten Island Advance, "The car crashed just to the right of the front door, pinning Lisa Roman, 40, and her daughter, Leonora Roman, who were sleeping on a couch in the kitchen." Lisa Roman suffered burns on her back, while Leonora has fractures on her face and leg, as well as burns. Two other daughters, who were sleeping in another room, were not injured.
The Post adds, "He told cops he was on Keppra seizure medication at the time, a source said." The home at 5309 Arthur Kill Road is right where Lee Avenue begins. Apparently another impaired driver crashed into the home in 2002.
