A 67-year-old man was attempting to reverse into a parking spot in Crown Heights on Monday night when his foot became "stuck" on the accelerator, prompting him to hop the curb, hit a parking sign pole, and wedge his 1998 Sedan on top of a bench, according to the NYPD.

The one-car crash took place shortly before 7:00 p.m. on Eastern Parkway, near the corner of Utica Avenue. The driver refused medical attention at the scene, according to the FDNY. There were no bystander injuries reported, though witness Jeff Dormeus told Gothamist that the crash caused a "big traffic snarl."
