Police say a man shot himself in the head while driving on the Throgs Neck Bridge last night. The Daily News reports, "The man was heading northbound from Queens toward the Bronx in a 1999 Chevy Silverado when he took his own life just before he arrived at the tollbooth, cops said."

Apparently the man shot himself at 7:11 p.m., and then his truck "slammed into another car and then careened into a tollbooth entrance. Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man — whose name was withheld pending family notification — in cardiac arrest, fire officials said," according to the News.

The man died at a hospital; three other people were treated for injuries.
