A driver has been arrested after fatally striking a pedestrian in the Bronx early this morning. Police say that the victim, a 43-year-old man, was crossing University Avenue between West 175th and 176th Street at around 3:32 a.m. when he was struck by the 25-year-old driver of a Honda Odyssey minivan. An NYPD spokeswoman said that the driver was in custody, but could not specify the charges against him.
The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification. We'll update when more information becomes available.
