Five people—including one pregnant woman—were shot in Red Hook last night after an SUV pulled up to a group of people gathered on the sidewalk and a gunman opened fire.

Police say a crowd was assembled outside of 9 Dwight Street around 10:51 p.m. when a late-model SUV occupied by two men pulled up. The car stopped, and one of the men began shooting, striking three women and two men before fleeing.

One victim, a 19-year-old woman who was five months pregnant, was shot three times in the torso and wrist. Community activist Tony Herbert tells PIX11 the unborn baby has died, but officials have not confirmed that.

Two more women, ages 19 and 22, were shot multiple times in their legs. Two 20-year-old men were also struck, one in the torso and legs and the other in just his legs.

Both 19-year-old women were taken to Lutheran Hospital, where they are listed in critical condition. The 20-year-old men were also taken to Lutheran, and are listed as stable. The 22-year-old woman was taken to Methodist Hospital in stable condition.

Police have not yet made any arrests.

Three people were killed and 19 were wounded in shootings around the city over the weekend, prompting Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams to set up a casket outside Borough Hall yesterday.
