domesticviolence.jpgA Red Hook man is hospitalized with serious stab wounds after his wife was found strangled to death in their Brooklyn home. It's a domestic abuse case that reportedly tilts in the opposite direction of most. Patrick Sculley (aged 60) and his wife (aged 50) had what neighbors described as a combative marriage, with frequent public fights. Neighbors told WNBC News that they saw Pamela hit her husband repeatedly with a baseball bat and kick him recently.

Patrick Scully is currently in critical condition at Lutheran Medical Center with stab wounds to his arms and chest. Police say that the wounds were self inflicted, and there are conflicting accounts over whether Pamela Scully was stabbed in the neck or strangled. NY1 reports that cops think Patrick stabbed Pamela in the neck before trying to take his own life.

"I heard not too long ago that she hit him in the back of the head with a bat, she kicks him in the street, she called him names," one neighbor told NY1. Despite the homicide, no arrests have been made in Pamela Scully's death. The Mayor's Office to Combat Domestic Violence has information on preventing and escaping it here. It's directory of services is available here.
