When someone tried to break into a Harlem office building, the management installed a camera in case the would-be robber struck again. He did and it was caught on tape: A man in a red sweatshirt stealing $500 worth of power tools. The Post reports that two days later, the building's maintenance workers saw him in person - holding a lot of tools - but the robber had a knife and got away.
The same day, the maintenance workers were at lunch, looking at printouts of the video and one said, "Hey, that looks like him over there!" And sure enough, ex-con Ernest Andrews was sitting with friends. The maintenance workers at 1916 decided to make sure he wouldn't get away again by tackling Andrews and tying "him up with his own red sweatshirt until cops arrived."
