Weather forecasts are looking good for New Year's Eve and even better for New Year's Day (if you like an unseasonably warm high of 50 degrees). But don't think that that means the snow will be gone by next year. Because the temperature this week have been hovering just above freezing in the day and below freezing at night—creating a harder to melt frozen top on many drifts—it is going to take some time for all the powder to go poof. Which means, with all those drunken NYE revelers, we can expect some seriously technicolored snow in 2011 to go along with that multi-colored new ball.
