The decomposing corpse of a man was found buried in a shallow grave behind a Bushwick home on Friday, according to police, and the house's former super is reportedly a person of interest.
The body, which was wrapped in a black garbage bag, was discovered on Friday afternoon in a backyard on Himrod Street near Evergreen Avenue, police said.
The victim was last seen on September 22nd, police sources told PIX11. He had reportedly just moved into the two-story house on Himrod, where he worked as a super. The house's former super is being investigated as a person of interest, the source added.
According to the Daily News, "Investigators wore painters’ masks in the presence of the overpowering scent of death that wafted from the small backyard." A neighbor told the News that three residents of the home left with police, but were not handcuffed.
The victim's identity has not yet been released, and the medical examiner's office is currently working to determine the cause of death.
