We had a feeling Assemblyman Dov Hikind's blackface Purim costume would catch the eye of funnyman Jon Stewart. On The Daily Show last night, Stew-Beef devoted quite a bit of his show to skewering Hikind's ill-conceived costume, as well as the Brooklyn Democrat's botched, non-apology apologies. Paraphrasing Hikind after his press conference, Stewart impersonated Hikind explaining, "I'm sorry some people are crybabies. But in my defense I'm an adult man in NYC and didn't realize blackface was offensive." Here's the video:

This segment was followed by a very amusing report from Flatbush Avenue, in which “senior Purim correspondent” Jessica Williams proves to be "surprisingly knowledgeable" about the holiday. And she is FURIOUS about Hikind giving ammunition to the War on Purim. "It is the tenth most important Jewish holiday there is," Williams laments. "Then Dov Hikind goes and trivializes it by dressing as a basketball player? Correct me if I'm wrong, Jon, but at what point in the Book of Esther do the Harlem Globetrotters show up?!"

Hikind also scored a coveted cameo as The Daily Show's "Moment of Zen." It's all downhill from here!
