A cyclist was fatally struck in Flushing this morning by the driver of a private ambulance.

The victim, a man in his 60s, was apparently making a left onto 37th Avenue from Parsons Boulevard around 9:50 a.m. when he was hit by the ambulance, which was heading south on Parsons, police said.

The man was taken to New York Hospital of Queens, where he was pronounced dead. The NYPD's Highway District Collision Investigation Squad is investigating, and we'll update as more information becomes available.
