A cyclist was struck by a driver who fled the scene in Bay Ridge last night, but survived, according to police.

An NYPD spokesperson said the cyclist, a 35-year-old man, was riding north on 6th Avenue when he was hit by a driver at the corner of 6th Avenue and Bay Ridge Avenue, shortly before 11 p.m. The driver left the scene after striking the cyclist, who couldn't identify anything about the car besides the fact that it was black.

The cyclist was taken to Lutheran Medical Center with injuries to his face and head, police said, but he was expected to survive.
