A cyclist in East Flatbush was killed this morning after a driver hit him and drove off, according to the NYPD.
A police spokesperson said that officers responded to a call about a downed cyclist at about 8:30 a.m. today at Nostrand Avenue and Church Avenue in Brooklyn. Police on the scene found a 30-year-old male cyclist unconscious and unresponsive in the street. EMS took the man to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
An initial investigation by the Collision Investigation Squad found that the cyclist was going west on Church Avenue, when he was struck while crossing Nostrand Avenue by the driver of a silver Infiniti who was moving south on Nostrand. The driver did not remain at the scene.

Cops told PIX11 that the Infiniti probably has windshield damage, and that a man and a woman were in the car.
The identity of the cyclist is being withheld pending familial notification.
