Police are looking for a cyclist who allegedly attacked a driver (and his car) with a bicycle lock in a road rage incident in Greenpoint earlier this week.

They say the attack happened around 7:45 p.m. on Monday on McGuinness Boulevard between Meeker Avenue and Bayard Street. The 59-year-old driver, who was in a 2014 Toyota Prius, said he got into a traffic dispute with the biker (it's unclear what the argument was about), during which the suspect allegedly hit his vehicle with a bike lock, breaking a side view mirror.

The cyclist allegedly opened the driver's door and repeatedly hit him in the head with the bike lock, then fled the scene. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he was treated for lacerations to the head and hand.

Cops describe the suspect as 22-35 years old, 5'11", 170 lbs; they add he was last seen wearing dark pants and no shirt.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577.
