Councilman Corey Johnson was busted yesterday for walking between the subway cars—no better than the common teen.

Johnson was apparently stopped as he switched cars on the A train near the West 23rd Street station around 6 p.m., the Daily News reports.

As the News tells it, Johnson quickly turned the incident into a critique of broken windows policing, a tactic in which cops crack down on minor infractions with the idea that major crimes will diminish as well.

“He was making a big deal out of it,” a source told the tabloid. “He was saying this is what’s wrong with broken windows. He identified himself. He pulled out his cell and started making calls.”

The fine for moving between the cars is $75, but remember: It can also kill you.
