Police have identified one of two suspected car burglars who allegedly shot three people in East Williamsburg on Tuesday morning, killing one.

Cops say Bryan Aponte, 20 opened fire on metalworker Michael Matusiak, 53, after witnesses say Matusiak confronted Aponte and an as-yet-unnamed accomplice for breaking into parked cars on Grattan Street near Knickerbocker Avenue at about 7:50 a.m. that day. Matusiak caught several slugs in his chest, and his coworker Derrick Robinson was also hit along with a 13-year-old girl walking to school.

The NYPD is offering a reward of "up to $2,500" for information about the shooting. Police previously released surveillance video showing Aponte entering a store. They say he stands 5-foot-5, weighs 180 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair.

Police ask those with information about the shooting to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-8477, submit tips online at the Crime Stoppers website, or text message information to 274637, then enter "TIP577".
