This morning, a loud argument was heard coming from a home on 38th Street near Ditmars Boulevard in Astoria, Queens and a woman and her daughter were shot in the head. The women are in critical condition at Elmhurst Hospital and police say the man who shot them is woman's husband
. Update: The younger woman is apparently not related to the suspect.
The couple's divorce was supposed to be finalized today, but for some reason, the pair had an argument at the home where the woman works as a caregiver to an elderly woman. (Her daughter was helping her care for the 90-year-old.) But around 8:50 a.m., a neighbor walking his daughter to school heard gunfire from the home.
WCBS 2 says the woman had an order of protection and a neighbor said, "The mom’s boyfriend got into fight with her ex-husband. So the boyfriend left and ex-husband went into house and shot the mother and daughter," while another said, "The ex-husband came and shot her and daughter … and the boyfriend ran away."
