Police have released photos of three suspects whom they say assaulted a transgender person in Park Slope earlier this month.

The incident happened around 11:10 a.m. on Friday May 13th as the 32-year-old victim, whom the police identified as a man but who identified herself as female to NBC, was walking northbound on 9th Street near 7th Avenue. She told cops that the suspects yelled at her as she was passing by: "What are you looking at, white faggot?"

"I was just trying to get away at that point, I just didn't want any altercation," she told NBC. "Next thing you know, I got my hair pulled and was just getting hit in multiple directions, fists at the same time," she said. The suspects blocked her path and started assaulting her; one man, who has "an unknown tattoo under his eye," punched the victim in the face while the other two punched and pulled the victim's hair.

The victim was taken to Methodist Hospital where she was treated for a fractured nose and eye socket. "These individuals seem like they would do it to the next person, would brutally beat up somebody," the victim said of her attackers. "It can be traumatic but you can't let someone that's hateful keep you down," she added

The NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the attack. One of the suspects was described as wearing a gray Nike shirt with red sleeves; another suspect was wearing dark colored jacket with a royal blue Adidas Tee Shirt; and the third suspect, who was bald, was wearing blue jean jacket and eyeglasses.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577.

Last month, a man pleaded guilty to killing a woman in Harlem named Islan Nettles, in 2013, because she was transgender.

And in another incident last month, transgender woman Pearl Love recorded a video of a random woman berating and assaulting her on the subway.
