The police say that a woman was attacked—and nearly raped—while walking in Queens last week.

According to the NYPD, a 23-year-old was walking along Gleane Street near Elmhurst Avenue around 4:50 am. on August 16th when a man approached her from behind. He allegedly punched her in the head, causing her to fall to the floor. Then, police say, the suspect tried to grab her while she was on the ground, but she resisted. Before he fled, he forcibly touched the woman.
