Yesterday afternoon, a conductor spotted a man slumped over a bench at the Forest Hills Long Island Rail Road station and it turned out the 60-year-old was dead. He apparently shot himself in the temple; the Post reports, "The man was still holding a pistol in his hand, according to MTA police."

The Post adds that the Manhattan-bound train "stopped as scheduled, but the conductor did not open the doors and the train pulled out seconds later — presumably to spare passengers the grisly sight." Service at the station was disrupted for hours. In late May, a 50-year-old man killed himself at the same station by getting hit by an oncoming, Manhattan-bound train.
