Fourth Of July is almost here, and so too is fireworks season—but not everyone can have their fireworks lust sated with just the Macy's display. Already, 16 people have been arrested trying to smuggle large loads of the fireworks—worth more than $30,000—into the city. More likely than not, a lot of fingertips have just been saved.
Up until yesterday, the NYPD offered amnesty to any people with illegal fireworks—but that's done now. As you can see from the video above, fireworks are dangerous and people are stupid, so be extra careful out there this week.
