Police say they've caught the guy responsible for a string of freaky robberies in the Bronx and Manhattan. Anthony Angel Citron, 39, is suspected of brandishing a hypodermic needle when robbing at least eight people in the Bronx, stealing iPads, iPods and cell phones. Yesterday Citron allegedly pulled the same job on a northbound 1 train near the 86th Street stop, where police tell the Daily News he "began chatting with the teen before he flashed a syringe and swiped the boy’s cell phone."
Police sources tell NBC New York they identified Citron through a tip to Crime Stoppers, and that he was arrested in Yonkers by members of the NYPD's Bronx Warrant Squad "without incident." Cintron has 19 prior arrests, including on drugs and robbery charges, and served eight years in state prison for a robbery rap.
