The NYPD is asking for the public's help in identifying a man who allegedly assaulted and then attempted to sexually assault a woman in Queens.

According to the police, the incident took place on Saturday, August 25 around 3:30 a.m. in the 108th Precinct, which covers Long Island City and Sunnyside. A man on a BMX bicycle approached a woman and, police say, "proceeded to repeatedly strike her in the face. The suspect then told the victim to perform a criminal sex act on him and he would stop striking her. The victim was then able to flee the scene." She was treated for a broken nose.

The suspect, who was on his black BMX bicycle the entire time, fled and police describe him as a Hispanic male, approximately 20-25 years old, 5'5"- 5'9", 155-170 lbs., with black hair, brown eyes and a thin build.
