Police say they have arrested a man believed to be connected to 16 robberies taking place in Stuyvesant Town, the East Village and Lower East Side. Dion Whitehead, 38, was charged with four counts of robbery—so far.

In each of the 16 cases, the suspect would brandish a gun or a knife (or simulate that he had one), threaten the victim, and then take their belongings, including cash, electronics and smartphones. On Wednesday, police released a photograph of the suspect and a tipster apparently called, leading cops to Whitehead, who lives on East Houston Street.

The Daily News reports, "Whitehead has several prior arrests including attempted murder and drug charges, cops said." The Post adds, "The alleged attempted murder occurred in Brooklyn. Disposition of the case was not immediately available."
