An NYPD officer was arrested in Brooklyn after he drunkenly crashed into another car, assaulted someone who approached him, and fled the scene, according to police.

A press release from the police department says the incident occurred Monday evening in Bath Beach. Officer Tanvir Ahmed, 28, was charged with DWI, assault, leaving the scene of an accident, and refusing to take a Breathalyzer test.

On Tuesday, Twitter account NYCityAlerts posted a video that appears to show the incident as it happened.

"Wow you're a fucking cop?" the video's narrator says, zooming in on an NYPD parking placard in the dashboard. "Holy shit he's a 67 [Precinct] cop!"

A spokesperson for the NYPD could not immediately say whether Ahmed is stationed in the 67th Precinct, but said Ahmed was arrested after witnesses described Ahmed striking a car, assaulting a bystander, and fleeing the scene.

We'll update if we learn more.
